26.01.2020 In the meantime, the revision of the category "Passenger ships" has also been completed and I am currently working with the category "Special ships".
In the meantime my computer has also been upgraded. After this I noticed an improved, sharper image on the monitor without making any changes, with the result that I obviously sharpened many reduced photos for the website too much in the past 2-3 years. However, I also noticed that the photos are not displayed too sharply on all computer monitors, laptops etc. So here is my request: If anybody find too sharp photos, will you please let me know: including the ship name + the respective dataset number (will be shown at the top as part of the URL to the right of the thousands directory number). My email address is "dkanne (at) t-online.de". I'm already implementing the changed conditions in the category "Special ships" and in that case I'm also correcting too sharp photos.
11.01.2020 today I checked and updated the links in the section "Free accessible ship registries / databases / ship lists" of the link list
06.01.2020 today I completed the reworking of the category “Ro/Ro vessels”.
01.01.2020 I wish you all a happy new year.

At the turn of the year, I completed the reworking of the category “Ferries”. In that case additional data has been added to the field “Additional Information” of many ship data sets. This will be continued in the next category “Ro/Ro vessels” in those remaining data sets to be revised.
Than a few words about website statistics. In November 2019, the website recorded the 2.5 millionth visit. The November itself set a new record with over 80,000 visits. The monthly average was around 65,000 visits in 2019. In this context, I would like to thank you very much for the enormous interest and wish all visiters a lot of fun furthermore.

09.10.2019 one current information due to the "ship categories":
in case of multiple representation of one and the same ship, if the names are the same (owner change etc., in the ship category "feeder" such as ALANA), the ships in the website have been presented in a random order so far. Now finally the sorting takes place in ascending order according to the photo date of the first photo, i.e. the oldest ship record is the first entry in the list, etc..

then a supplement to my information from June 24th:
for October 2019 currently 4 APL container ships are announced for the Hamburg harbour. One of them is currently moored at the “Burchard Quay”. So it remains to be seen if this shipping company will be preserved in Northern Europe or not.
