Location Killibegs (Co. Donegal, Ireland), "22 Main Street"
Comment vooking westward along "Main Street" - a little later we came across the "Donegal Carpet Factory" by chance and were lucky enough to take part in a guided tour (unfortunately there are no photos) - alternatively here is an excerpt from "Gruene Insel.de": County Donegal is not only known for its handmade pens, the "Donegal Pens". But also for his traditional carpets. These are made in the "Donegal Carpet Factory" and are woven on the largest loom in the world. Persian-style Donegal carpets were once created, dyed and knotted in the factory. Today these specimens can be found on the walls of important buildings such as "Dublin Castle", "Buckingham Palace" and the "White House". Visitors to the “Donegal Carpet Factory” learn a lot of information about the production of carpets and can even try out the loom themselves.
