| Comment | view on the southern side of the Cathedral of Visby St. Maria "Visby S: ta Maria domkyrka" with the main gate and the western tower. For a long time the church was a mere guest church. Later when the Germans permanently settled in the city, the church became the parish church of the German population in "Visby". 1572 the "St. Mary's Church" became the episcopal church of the Diocese of "Visby" and therefore the Cathedral of "Visby". |
