Comment View on "Schulau - Willkommhöft", with the ferry pier "Willkommhöft" and the "Schulauer Fährhaus" (restaurant). The name "Willkommhöft" stands for the famous ship welcoming station, on June 12th 1952 appropriate christened by a bottle of rum and put into operation. The "Schulauer Fährhaus" has a longer history. Already in 1850 there was the Etablissement of J.H. Heinsohn's "Zum Parnass" located on a small hill, including a spacious terrace with view on the river Elbe. The current building was constructed as a farmhouse in 1864. In 1875 the "Fährhaus zur schönen Elbaussicht" (ferry station with the lovely view on the Elbe) got the license to sell alcoholic beverages.
