sailing speed under sails: 13 kn - the ship was once built as a merchant navy training ship. Later she was converted into a light ship and was first stationed at the "Elbe 4" position until 1914. Then she became a pilot station from 1916 to 1918 and from 1918 to 1936 she was stationed as light ship again at "Elbe 3" position. From October 1942 she was under navy command in the Baltic Sea and from July 1945 she was in use as light ship again, now at the "Elbe 2" position until she was decommissioned. The ship was baught in 1987 by the Dutch Harry Smit and until 1994 rebuilt into a barque for charter trips. |
