Additional Information type ship of a pair of identically constructed cruise liners - in 1982 converted from cruise ship into a troopship, 1983 reconverted - on November 30th 2013 the central superstructure of the ship caught fire at Chalkis Shipyard, Greece while laid up prior to returning to service in 2014. Due to the damage she sustained in the fire the Ocean Countess was indecated as a total loss and later towed to Aliaga, Turkey for demolition.
