type ship of a series of identically constructed multi purpose dry cargo ships (4 vessels) - equipped with 2 cranes of a lifting capacity of 45 ts each - due to a navigational error of the captain the ship ran aground near Gangløy (Norway), south of Maløy, at the beginning of March 2012. It tore up the hull soil and water penetrated into the holds and the engine room. After a thorough investigation, the ship was declared a total loss and, later on, delivered on May 1st to the recycling company Smedegaarden A/S, Esbjerg, Denmark for demolition. |
