Additional Information |
3rd ship of a series of identically constructed passenger / Ro-Ro cargo ships (3 vessels), also see >Kong Harald< and >Richard With< - insulated cargo capacity: 888 m3, the given passenger capacity is the summary of 475 berths + day passengers. Following an explosion on September 9th 2011 fire broke out in the engine-room whilst off Ålesund. She was brought alongside and passengers plus non-essential crew were evacuated. A critical list developed, but the water was subsequently pumped out. Unfortunately two crew members were reported dead. Later she was towed to Sula for examination and repair. |
