7th ship of a series of type identical coasters / cargo ships of the sonamed basic type "sea snake" (39 vessels) - in 2012 the ship was renamed >Sjimmie< and 2014 >Fom< - according to "WSS Marine News 1/2019": on October 13th 2018, in the Black Sea eighty miles southwest of Mys Sarych, Crimea, Ukraine, the ship developed a severe list and sank. All eight crew members were picked up from a life raft by the Greek tanker MINERVA MARINA (IMO 9411939) and taken to Novorossiysk, Russia. >Fom< had been on voyage from Azov, Russia to Hereke, Turkey. |
