Additional Information |
3rd ship of series of identically constructed pilot tenders (10 vessels), also see >Döse<, >Duhnen<, >Wangeroog< and >Groden< - the ship was originally built for the German Navy. The Federal Office of Defense Technology and Procurement used the ship in the North and Baltic Seas until 2005 to test remote-controlled mine-hunting equipment. After the project was abandoned in 2005, the ship went to the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development and was converted into a pilot tender in 2006 and renamed >Borkum<. |
