11th ship of a series of identically constructed multi purpose dry cargo ships of Sietas standard type 129 (12 vessels - German ice class E, opened canopied bridge wing, high engine power, thick bow mast, 1 welded deck; according to LR classified as general cargo ship, according to GL as container ship), also see >Sea Vita<, >Marina<, >Tanja<, >Rhein Carrier<, >Annette<, >Marti Prime< and >Holstein< - also see >Smaragden< (type 129a) - in 2010 the ship was renamed >Sweet Istanbul<. The ship capsized and partially sank on March 20th 2017 whilst laid up off Teluk Jakarta, Indonesia in position 06.04.04N, 106.53.51E. The wreck lays on starboard side with superstructure and bow above water - total loss. |
