10th ship of a series of identically constructed coastal cargo liners of type "Ladoga" (10 vessels in design "285"), also see >Ladoga-11< (coaster), >Volkhov< and >Glory< (coaster) - also see >Ladoga-4< (design "289" - coaster) and >Ladoga-102< (design "787" - cargo ships <5,000 ts DWT) - in 2005 the ship was renamed >Kuban< - on July 2nd 2012 >Kuban< strandet in the Gulf of Finland off Nerva island and sustained serious damage to her ballast tanks. She was subsequentely declared a total loss and sold to Latvian breakers. She arrived Liepaja on July 14th for demolition. |
