Additional Information 18th submarine of type 206A (reconstructed version of type 206, originally 18 vessels, also see >U 18<) - modernized at Nordseewerke GmbH, Emden, Federal Republic of Germany. At the date the photos were shot this submarine belonged to the 1st submarine squadron in >Eckernfoerde<. (displacement submerged: 520 ts / speed submerged: 17,0 ts) - main armament: 8x 533-mm bow torpedo tubes (8 DM-2A3 Seehecht torpedoes or 16 mines), 24 mines. On January 31st 2007 the submarine was decommissioned and in 2010 scrapped in the Netherlands.
